چکیده

Research background. The cytotoxicity on various vital cell lines and the activity foodborne pathogens (murine norovirus 1 as a surrogate Campylobacter jejuni) of methanolic Urtica dioica L. leaf extract (UDE) were studied. Experimental approach. cytotoxic concentration 50% (CC50) was measured by linearity between UDE concentrations viability. Antibacterial effects C. jejuni analyzed broth microdilution method with spectrophotometer. virucidal antiviral activities determined virus titration host infectivity expressed tissue infective dose using Spearman–Karber. Results conclusions. CC50 macrophage cell. MIC MBC 5 mg/ml 20 for both isolated from poultry meat standard strain. inhibited MNV-1 three pathways at approximately same inhibitory (1.45-1.87 mg/ml). In conclusion, present study tried to explain in detail dose-dependent two important causing outbreaks worldwide. results showed that it might be safe alternative food additive supplement candidate concentrations.

Mineral Properties and Dietary Value of Raw and Processed Stinging Nettle (Urtica dioica L.)

Stinging nettle (Urtica dioica L.) has a long history of usage and is currently receiving attention as a source of fiber and alternative medicine. In many cultures, nettle is also eaten as a leafy vegetable. In this study, we focused on nettle yield (edible portion) and processing effects on nutritive and dietary properties. Actively growing shoots were harvested from field plots and leaves sep...

Effects of Various Doses of Selenite on Stinging Nettle (Urtica dioica L.)

The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of selenium (Se) on the growth, accumulation and possible mechanisms of Se transport in certain parts (roots, leaves, stamp and apex) of nettle (Urtica dioica L.) plants. Se was supplemented by one-shot and two repeated doses to the soil (2.0 and 4.0 mg Se per kg of substrate). Selenium content in roots increased linearly with dose and was si...

Zn content in stinging nettle (Urtica dioica L.) as affected by soil characteristics: spatial distribution and statistics

Abstract Understanding metal plant availability as influenced by soil conditions is of key importance for phytoremediation research and for quantification of environmental risk assessment in polluted areas. Urtica dioica L. was chosen as study object as it is omnipresent in the temperate climate region and in the area under study in particular. The study area stretched over 630 km2 in Flanders,...
